Information For International Staff Applicants

We love to welcome staff from other parts of the world, and every summer look forward to their special contributions to our staff team! Note also that you are welcome to apply to serve after the summer on Post-Summer Wrap-Up staff or on our Fall Staff Team.

"My time at Qwanoes was the the most worthwhile few months of any summer I've had! God used me in new ways, taught me bundles and fully stretched me. Camp Qwanoes was well worth traveling half way round the globe for. The passion for God and for kids that is shown by the staff is unrivaled!"

Camp Qwanoes has enjoyed welcoming summer staff from many countries. Coming to Canada as a volunteer became much easier for a number of countries as of May 2002 (see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-who.asp). For these countries the medical examination is not required, just an Employment Authorization which can be obtained with no fee through the Canadian Consulate in your country. The Consulate requires an acceptance letter from us plus other personal information. Proof of medical insurance is required before you enter Canada.

This Employment Authorization will not allow a person to work for pay or study as a student in Canada—a separate visa would be required. Though we can offer international staff only volunteer positions, we are permitted to reimburse some expenses such as travel (up to the amount of the "Qwanoes contribution" listed with each position) and provide room and board. Please contact us for more information. staff@qwanoes.ca

(Note: Unfortunately, space is very limited for applicants from countries for which the medical examination is still required. Apply no later than March 15, 2012.)

"I had such an amazing two summers. God did amazing things that encourage me even now as I look back over it. The past summers have been ones in which I have felt so alive and had so much fun. As a team we were continually being surprised and excited about what God was doing and I honestly felt so privileged to be a part of it." Cara, Ireland (Senior Counselor)

"It was so cool how God brought together so many people from all around the world, but the amazing thing was how His Spirit allowed us to reach so many campers no matter what their culture or background was. Being one of the International staff made you feel like you had something extra to bring to Qwanoes- something that quite often opened doors with the campers." Abby, New Zealand (Senior Counselor)
