Qwanoes is hosting a Cowichan Valley Youth Event and you are invited! There will be plenty of energy with Quixotic on stage, a night game, mug-up and lots of friends. This Friday, January 29th – Time: 7:00 – 9:30pm – Cost: $4 – Who: Cowichan Valley Youth Grades 8 to 12. See you there!

Have you heard? Qwanoes is having a singing contest as a part of celebrating 15 years of original music from Q-Town Records! This contest is for all 2010 summer campers, so if you are planning on coming to camp this summer, this contest is for you! Sing by yourself, with a friend, or open those garage doors and play with your whole band. Just choose your favorite Q-Town song and SHINE OUT LOUD!

Start practicing now! On February 1st it all starts and we will begin accepting videos. You’ll be able to watch other video’s from there and share yours with friends. Quixotic will be playing, and our speakers will be Jayson Oldham (remember him from Junior High #3?) at SDBC and Stan Parker at Campbell River (he’ll be speaking again this summer at a Junior High camp).

We just got back from Missions Fest and it was quite a weekend! We heard a lot of great speakers like Will Graham (Billy Graham’s grandson), awesome bands and the best part was seeing all who came by the Qwanoes booth! Thanks to all those who stopped by, we loved seeing you!

The Battle Top Arena arrives @ Qwanoes! After Missions Fest a team of two headed across the border into the United States to pick up our newest game addition to Club Coco. It had quite a journey riding on top of our vehicle, the eyes of both the border guards and the BC Ferry crew got big and wide when seeing it come their way. There have only been three battle top arenas ever made and the only one in Canada is in Club Coco waiting for you! Who will be left standing this summer? Yours or theirs!?

LIFT OFF! We are coming to a town near you! NEXT WEEK!

The 2010 theme has finally been unveiled! Are you ready for an unforgettable week? Many of you have said YES to stepping out of the ordinary and discovering an adventure that is “OUT OF THIS WORLD!”

Thanks to those who were a part of Day #1 of summer camp registration! What a great start! At exactly 9:00 am this morning the phone lines lit up, faxes started coming in, and hundreds visited us online throughout the day.

I think Mel (Director of Staffing) took the first call…or was it Amanda (Registrar)? Or Brenda? Betty? Yes – they were all talking within seconds after 9:00 am and that got us all excited! Summer is coming…and we are so thankful to each one who chose to call us on Day 1.

To those who have already booked their spot, we are looking forward to counting down the days to summer with you!

We will be standing by every day looking forward to hearing from all our campers! If you haven’t registered yet, or if you know of a friend who you want to see at camp, we’ll be ready to save that spot at a moments notice!

With the Olympics coming up, this event is earlier than usual and it has been moved to a few differentlocations – be sure to go online to the Missions Fest website to get the latest. Qwanoes will once again have a booth set up waiting to see you! Be sure to stop by our booth to say hello and see if your picture is in the new poster! The summer 2010 posters are hot off the press – be one of the first ones to get one and bring it to school or put up in your room!

Did you hear it from your house? It was a very exciting time at our New Years Staff Retreat when our summer staff experienced the new theme for the very first time. The Squirrel had our NEW theme song rockin’ in Club Coco and then as the poster was slowly being lowered it happened! The new logo and theme was revealed for the very first time and the cheers and applause roared and at that moment everyone knew it was going to be a very special year for Qwanoes and all of our campers.

We are ready and standing by for you! The easiest way to register is online…but you are also welcome to call, fax or even drop-in right at the camp! We can’t wait to hear from you and it all starts on January 4th at 9:00 am. All of our 2010 registration forms and on-line registration links will be ready on our website on January 4th by 9:00 am.
