Announcing Qwanoes One-Year Fundraising Drive!

This past summer Qwanoes welcomed our largest number of kids to camp. And God worked in powerful ways! More kids than ever before made a first-time decision to accept and follow Christ - just over 600 in all!

Unfortunately, there were still hundreds and hundreds of children and youth who had to be turned away as there was not enough space. In the past decade we have added space for over 1300 more campers...but it is still not enough. And meanwhile, our facilities continue to experience the growing pains from 22 consecutive summers of growth.

We are seeing a growing need and opportunity to impact the lives of kids. In response, an exciting Phase Three development is just around the corner...likely to be launched in the fall of 2010. Yet - there are several vital project needs that cannot wait for that campaign.

We invite you to partner with us in this special one-year fundraising drive, and help us prepare the way!

Juniors Big Hug

Is there space for my grandson? Can you find a spot somewhere? Please...he needs to be there. My son won’t let my grandson go to church - but he said I can pay to send him to camp. Please...can you find just one more spot?

Prepare the Way Projects

Floating Super Slide & Super Totter...MORE FUN! $13,000

Since the early 1970’s a trademark at Qwanoes was our floating wood slide. To continue the tradition we’d like to add a giant inflatable “playstation!” Not only does this mountain tower 15’ above the water, it has a bouncy floor, and even includes a cave! We’re also going to add the perfect companion...a Super Totter. Campers will love these newest additions at Qwanoes Beach.

Two Summer Cabins...SPACE FOR MORE KIDS! $20,000

Last summer we left hundreds of campers on waiting lists. Improvements over the past few years make possible the addition of two more cabins.

Skate Park...IMPROVED SAFETY & FUN! $187,000

For 15 years, Qwanoes’ skate park has been a highlight for campers every year. It now needs to be replaced - and we’d like to take it to a whole new level! This world-class skateable terrain would be the first of it’s kind within a Canadian camp setting. This concrete park will be a fusion of the best of all styles – with something for everyone from first-timers to experts - and it will be LOW maintenance for years. It even includes a “fun track” - campers will love the banks and curves on this extremely unique loop around the forest and back!

Cabin Village Bathroom...IMPROVED EXPERIENCE! $150,000

The Cedar Cove bathroom (lower washroom closest to the beach) is in great need to be replaced. It services two male cabin villages with a total of 12 male cabins, plus it serves females using Qwanoes Beach. Our hope is to replace three bathrooms in the coming years.

Campaign Loan Reduction...REDUCED DEBT! $155,000

Over the past three years we have eliminated our guest house mortgage, septic loan, dock lease, and reduced our operating line of credit and loan. We continue to seek to eliminate our loan associated with past development which now stands at about $750,000.

TOTAL ONE-YEAR GOAL: $525,000

1000 summer campers added between 1999 and 2004.

Almost 2000 children in total left on waiting lists in summers 2006 to 2008.

“I had the biggest break-through of my life – I came to know God here this week. I didn’t know I could know Him before this. This changed my life to come here to camp!”
