Speaker: Carolyn Arends

Photo of Women's Spring Retreat SpeakerCarolyn Arends is known for messages, songs, and books that stir the soul, and a warm, engaging style that leaves her audiences feeling like they’ve found a new best friend.

She has written and released 14 albums and is the author of 3 critically acclaimed books. 15 of Carolyn’s songs have become top 10 radio singles on the Canadian pop and US Christian charts. Carolyn has earned 2 Dove Awards, 3 Juno Nominations, and was recognized as the West Coast Music Awards’ Songwriter of the Year. Her prose has been recognized by The Word Guild, The Evangelical Press Association and The Canadian Church Press Awards.

In addition to her busy touring and speaking schedule, Carolyn is a regular columnist for Christianity Today, Faith Today, and CT Women, and has served as an adjunct professor at Trinity Western University, Regent College, ACTS Seminary, Pacific Life Bible College, Columbia Bible College and Prairie Bible College. She has a degree in Psychology and English from Trinity Western University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Regent College. She lives in Surrey, BC with her husband, Mark, and their young-adult children Benjamin and Bethany.

Details:

  • Begins: Friday, 9:30 pm (Registration 8:15-9:00 pm)
    Guests from Greater Vancouver will catch the 5:45pm ferry from Tsawwassen to the Duke Point ferry terminal in Nanaimo where bus transportation will be provided to Qwanoes.
  • Ends: Sunday, 1:30 pm Mainlanders will catch the 3:15 pm ferry to Tsawwassen.
    Guests from Greater Vancouver will catch the 5:45pm ferry from Tsawwassen to the Duke Point ferry terminal in Nanaimo where bus transportation will be provided to Qwanoes.
  • Accommodation: Warm dormitory-style rooms in our Lodges (Sky Ridge and the Pacific Woods Lodge). You can choose which lodge you would like to stay in when you register.
  • What to bring: Your own bedding, Bible, alarm clock, flashlight, warm casual clothes, personal items, appropriate footwear, old clothes & shoes (just in case!), swimsuit.
